anne black is the studio of one danish ceramicist. everything is porcelain, designed by anne and made by hand.

the studio

anne black has worked in porcelain since 1998. in 2005 she co-founded a workshop in bat trang, a ceramic village in northern vietnam, together with the hang family, potters for eight generations. hand throwing was no longer a living practice there, and anne reintroduced it.

twenty years later the same team makes her porcelain with the same methods she uses in her studio in copenhagen.

the handles and hooks

our best selling piece is a small porcelain hook. it is cast and high-fired, and it comes in five sizes, glazed or matte, in colours anne has selected. the smaller sizes are used just as often as handles on a drawer or a cupboard door.

in a shop the hooks work best shown together, as a wall of colour that customers build their own combination from. we have a small painted display board that holds 25 hooks. when you order 25 different hooks, in packs of four or eight of each, the board comes with them free of charge, so it is ready to put up when it arrives.

working with us

the hooks have been in the collection for more than fifteen years. we keep the assortment steady and only add a new colour once in a while, so you can reorder what sells. there is no minimum order, and we ship from stock within a few days.

anne has her own shop in tullinsgade in copenhagen, where the whole collection stands on the shelves from floor to ceiling. it is where we see every day what people pick up, and what they come back for. you are always welcome to visit.
