Anne Black is a ceramicist and designer based in Copenhagen.
Since graduating from the Danish Design School in 1996, she has worked with porcelain as her only material — returning to it over the years and shaping lasting everyday objects.
Her work is rooted in the tradition of studio ceramics, guided by respect for form, material, and the small variations that make each piece unique. Every object is made by hand — not to make a statement, but because it feels right. It connects maker, material, and user in one continuous movement.
In 2005, Anne co-founded a ceramic workshop in Bat Trang, Vietnam. What began as a production idea became a close collaboration built on trust, skill, and friendship. Together with a team of artisans, she continues to develop her collections — always by hand, and with respect for the people and the craft that make them possible.
Alongside her studio, Anne runs a store in Copenhagen that brings together design, fashion, and handmade ceramics. It reflects the same values that guide her work: honesty, quality, and the quiet joy of making things that last.
Anne’s work is collected and exhibited internationally, yet remains rooted in something simple — the pleasure of shaping clay, working together, and creating objects that carry traces of real hands and shared time.
