Product Care
We believe in making things that last. Every Anne Black piece is crafted with care, and with the right handling, it can stay with you for many years — and perhaps even generations.
Caring for your ceramics
All our porcelain pieces are fired at high temperatures (up to 1260°C), making them strong and durable. They are dishwasher safe, though we recommend hand washing to preserve surface details and silk-screened decoration over time. Avoid sudden temperature changes, such as moving directly from fridge to oven, as this can stress the material.
Store items carefully to avoid chipping — especially when stacking plates, cups, or bowls. If you’re using hooks or handles in high-traffic areas, a quick wipe with a damp cloth will keep them looking clean and bright.
Cleaning unglazed surfaces
Unglazed surfaces are more susceptible to stains and discoloration. You can protect them by treating with regular cooking oil or any food-approved oil. For stubborn stains, machine washing or soaking in warm water with a dishwashing tablet is usually effective. Frequent use and washing helps preserve their appearance.
Reusing and reimagining
Many of our products — especially handles and hooks — are designed to be reused. They can move with you, be mounted in new places, or become part of a home project.
We’ve seen customers use them to upcycle vintage furniture, build custom coat racks, or bring new life to a drawer with just a few screws and a splash of colour. These small changes are personal, lasting — and better for the planet.
