Black is blue is Anne´s classical handpainted tableware line. The painting inside expresses that beauty comes from within. Anne created this tableware line in 2006 after her intial trips to Vietnam, where she got inspired by the ambience in Hanoi and the highly skilled artisans in our factory who possess superior handpainting skills.
Modern scandinavian design
Handpainting with cobalt blue is classical craftmanship. To this tradition Anne Black has added modern stringent shapes and a symbolic flower pattern, in order to create a contemporary interpretation. Thanks to our Vietnamese colleagues the shapes are still being handpainted on a daily basis in Vietnam. Below you can see part of the paint process.
